Findings, check these first
- Stuck E shift valve holding pressure switch E on with solenoid E off
- Failed pressure switch manifold E switch membrane on Allison 1000 series
- Mechanically defective E shift solenoid not destroking on command
- Loss of transmission prime aerating fluid and falsing the pressure switch
Standard procedure
- Check transmission fluid level and condition before any electrical testing
- Monitor TFP switch E status on a Tech2 or GDS2 with solenoid E commanded off
- Test the TCM response and harness integrity per the Allison diagnostic table
- Bench-check the pressure switch manifold membrane with an ohmmeter
- Replace the pressure switch manifold or solenoid only on confirmed failure, then verify the test runs and passes
