What's New
What changed, and when
This page logs every change to this site with the date it went live: new codes, new guides and fixes. Every code is checked against a public source before it ships, and a code that cannot be sourced does not go up.
Newest first.
This site today
- 282 codes, each with the meaning, the usual causes and the order to check
- 3 guides, listed below
- A source is recorded for every entry, kept internally so the pages stay readable
Guides on this site
Clearer sources, search recovery and guide navigation
October 17, 2026
Code pages now show recorded source links, source limits and a way to report a correction. Search explains when a code belongs on the generic site, guides have section shortcuts, and headings and mobile links are easier to use.
New repair-order look across the site
October 16, 2026
The whole site now reads like a repair order: a lookup box up top, results as line items, and each code page laid out as findings then the order to check them. Every code page, guide and the sitemap share the same sheet.
Search now reaches the words you actually use
October 16, 2026
Typing a symptom like transmission, chassis or no start finds the codes behind it, including the theft-deterrent no-start. Long result lists cap at 25 with one button to show the rest.
Cause lists made specific to each code
October 10, 2026
The 118 codes that shared one generic cause list now carry their own. Each names the door, sensor, position or circuit its own code describes, so two Chevy codes no longer read the same.
190 to 240 codes, and this page
September 29, 2026
Chevy gained 50 sourced codes today, most in the B02xx and B03xx body and climate ranges. Where the live source and the archive disagreed on the circuit name, the record says so. This page now lists every change to the Chevy site with dates. See it.
50 more codes and two new guides
September 26, 2026
Chevy grew to 190 codes, all sourced. Two guides followed: GM security codes and the Passlock relearn, and GM ABS and Stabilitrak codes explained.
Chevy P1xxx fuel and ignition codes guide
September 25, 2026
A guide covering how Chevy fuel and ignition codes differ, how GM sets them, and the order to check air leaks, sensor signals, fuel pressure and parts.
Two corrected codes
September 25, 2026
P1221 was corrected to the fuel pump secondary circuit and B0414 to the driver side temperature control, both from two independent sources.
Severity now names the real warning lamp
September 25, 2026
Body and chassis codes used to say Check Engine Light. Airbag faults now say Airbag Light, brake faults say ABS Light, and the rest say body or chassis warning light, which is what you actually see on the dash.
123 codes
September 19, 2026
The catalog grew from 95 to 123 codes in its second batch.
The Chevy site opened
September 13, 2026
Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac codes got their own site, starting at 95 codes.
Tools for site owners
The free lookup box, for a site that wants a code search without sending readers away: the embed page. It matches your own styling and opens in a new tab, so you keep the reader.
The whole generic code list is free to reuse as CSV or JSON, and generic OBD-II codes live on OBD Codes List.
