P1108
BARO To MAP Sensor Comparison Too High
What it means
P1108. BARO To MAP Sensor Comparison Too High. This Chevy-enhanced code applies to Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Equinox.
Findings, check these first
- Skewed BARO reading inside the PCM at key-on
- Failing MAP sensor reading high relative to BARO
- Restricted air intake or clogged air filter skewing MAP
- Vacuum leak downstream of the throttle body
- PCM calibration needing an update for BARO rationality
Standard procedure
- Record key-on BARO versus local barometric pressure with a Tech2 or GDS2
- Inspect the air filter and intake tract for restriction
- Smoke-test the intake for vacuum leaks
- Compare MAP readings at key-on, idle, and wide-open throttle against spec
- Reflash or replace the PCM only as a last resort after sensor tests pass
